![]() Class: Templar Introduced: Dragon Age: Origins Dragon Age: Origins Role: NPC Romanceable: No Cullen is a Templar whom you first meet in Dragon Age: Origins. At the beginning of the Mage origin, Cullen is the Templar who is chosen to kill your character should he/she fail their harrowing and become an abomination. In any other origin, you meet him in the Tower of Magi quest (Broken Circle) - he is the Templar in the pink bubble, held there against his will by a desire demon, right before you go up to the harrowing chamber to confront Uldred. He will briefly tell you what has happened, and advocate for you killing all the mages when you go up to the chamber because he is convinced at that point that they are all blood mages and there is no saving any of them; he's been tormented by the demon for days or weeks by the time the Warden and their team reaches him. The rumors at the end of Dragon Age: Origins that Cullen went to Greenfell or that he went crazy and started killing mages have been confirmed by the writers as false. Dragon Age 2 Role: NPC Romanceable: No In Dragon Age 2, Cullen is Knight-Captain of Kirkwall under Meredith. You can interact with him on many occasions, sometimes in quests, and speak with him quite a bit. He begins to express doubt as to how Meredith is handling the mages throughout the game, and in the ending battle, he will assist Hawke and party members against Meredith. His views on mages have calmed quite a bit since Origins - he does not feel they all need to die, but he does believe Templars serve a purpose in both protecting the populace from mages and protecting mages from the populace (and themselves). Dragon Age: Inquisition Role: Advisor Romanceable: Yes (Female, Elf or Human) For Dragon Age: Inquisition, Cullen is to be one of the Inquisition's Advisors - he will be the General of the Armies. After the mage-templar conflict in Kirkwall, he helped rally the templars and restored order, and Cassandra recruited him to the Inquisition because of his integrity and leadership there. As for the time between the conflict and Cassandra recruiting him, the writers have said that we can ask him about this to find out what's happened to him, and Kirkwall, since then. Cullen is someone who fights for what he believes in. He tries to do the right thing, even if he isn't always successful. Cullen is voiced by Greg Ellis in all three games. His writer in Dragon Age: Inquisition is Brianne Battye. Quests
