Google launching a new “YouTube built for gamers.”

ORly?

Now this should be interesting.. I’m especially wondering if our game streamers will have to choose between one or the other, or if they’ll be able to utilize both. How will commenting work (and gawd, could we get a setting to HIDE comments please?); will Google+ show the streams we’ve watched, liked, commented on, subscribed to? I know a few people who have refused to switch to Google+ from their older accounts and they are not able to comment on YouTube videos because of it, so there may be even more restrictions in place inside an offering so clearly designed to integrate with it.

I’ll be keeping tabs on my favorite game streamers to see where they go. In the end, adoption is really up to them – where they go, the watchers will follow. I just hope this new “YouTube built for gamers” is an improvement to the constant annoying buffer-fest Twitch that makes me unable to view/watch half the time. That alone would be worth the price of switching.
