I've added the new IGN article to the Gamescom Coverage page (lots of articles there - check it out!) but wanted to point out how cool the change to the Dragon Age relationships sound. Inquisition’s characters respond to situations involving your character in a more organic way than previous games. Characters present during the slaying of a dragon, for example, may demand celebratorial drinking. Others may not. “And suddenly it’s a friendship moment, or maybe more. Maybe there’s flirting, who knows? It all depends on that state. It’s reacting to what happens in the game,” rather than reaching a certain beat in the arc of your romantic conquest. This is something I can really get behind. Real bonding moments, deeper attachments to companions and therefore more fulfilling relationships? Yes, please! Team reactions and bonding with the companions will result in getting to know them even better, making the friendships and other relationships all the sweeter. It also promises to make replays of the game more different and fun - you can take a different team with you and not only experience the various banters but also the quests and their aftermath in a whole new way. I can't wait to see this in action.
